Judith Light has signed on to co-star opposite Billy Crystal in the upcoming Apple TV series Before.
The streamer describes the series as "a 10-episode atmospheric, character-driven psychological thriller about Eli (Crystal), a child psychiatrist who, after recently losing his wife, Lynn (Light), encounters a troubled young boy who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past.
Seductively enigmatic, Lynn (Light) is the love of Eli’s life, but her recent death may not be quite what it seems. As Eli digs deeper into the hidden life of the wife he thought he knew, he soon finds Lynn haunting him from beyond the grave."
Sarah Thorp serves as showrunner and executive produces with Crystal, Eric Roth, Adam Bernstein and Jet Wilkinson. Bernstein succeeds director Barry Levinson, who departed earlier this year. Paramount TV Studios is producing the 10-episode project.
Bernstein has directed the pilots for Fargo, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Alpha House, and Strangers With Candy, sharing in 30 Rock‘s 2007 Comedy Series Emmy win in his role as supervising producer. His recent directing credits include Apple TV+’s Silo and Showtime’s Billions. He is repped by CAA.
