Court TV saw robust viewership for its extensive coverage of the Karen Read retrial, with the verdict on June 18 delivering the network’s most-watched trial moment in more than three years, since the conclusion of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard trial in June 2022.
Across the entire 36-day trial, the Court TV YouTube channel livestream had more than 17 million views.
During the reading of the Read verdict:
- Court TV linear viewership peaked at nearly 650K viewers on linear.
- Across linear, connected television and digital platforms, Court TV tallied over 3 million hours of viewing across the verdict day.
- Court TV’s YouTube channel racked up 113K concurrent viewers for the verdict.
Court TV was selected to be the media network that supplied pool coverage to all other news outlets for the Karen Read retrial.
The verdict in the case follows other strong ratings momentum for Court TV, including the season two premiere of “Interview with a Killer,” which set a viewership record for an original series on the network in April. Court TV also won acclaim at the recent 2025 True Crime Awards in London, winning the Viewer’s Choice award as well as the Highly Commended New Series award for "Interview With a Killer.”
